About Rob

Hi. I'm Rob, an architect and founder of Elements of Home, a residential architectural practice in Melbourne.

For more than 20 years, I’ve worked almost exclusively on residential renovations across Melbourne.

Most of my projects start with someone saying, “we know we need to do something… we just don’t know what yet.”

I’ve spent a lot of time sitting at kitchen tables helping people make sense of what they’ve got, what’s not working, and what’s actually worth doing. Most people like where they live — the house just isn’t working the way it should.

They’re often not sure where to start or who to talk to. They’re looking at spending hundreds of thousands of dollars — usually borrowed — and no one can afford to get it wrong.

In 2025, after another call that began with “I’m not sure whether to use an architect or a draftsperson — I’ve never done this before”, it clicked.

People are worrying about wasting money on the wrong person, choosing the wrong builder, paying too much.

No one wants to be another bad statistic.

I was repeating the same advice over and over, and so Reno Rehab was born.

It’s the same thinking, the same advice, and the same processes I use every day in my architecture practice — just laid out in a sequence so you can understand it yourself before you spend a cent engaging your team.

Projects don’t usually fail because of bad builders or bad design. They go off track much earlier, when homeowners are forced to make big decisions without understanding the process, the risks, or even what questions to ask.

Take your time, get the early decisions right, and the rest of the project becomes a lot easier.
